Tom Colicchio, Chad Smith & More Set for Massive Play-Along at NYC Benefit, 11/17
"Playing guitar actually helped me overcome my shyness," added Colicchio. "On a personal level, I also find people who play music to be very generous - and forgiving - people."
Guests at the benefit will also be able to bid on signed instruments and memorabilia donated by Jack Black, Steve Earle, Kirk Hammett, Derek Trucks, Ben Harper, Stephen Stills, and strum a selection of rare guitars by Martin, Gibson, Fender, and more in the Dream Guitars Room, curated by Sam Ash Music Stores president Sammy Ash.
Last year's inaugural Guitar Mash Benefit Jam featured guitar masters like Vernon Reid (Living Color), Nels Cline (Wilco), Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Band), Kaki King, and Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan guitarist). Highlights can be seen in this video.
Tickets are available at www.guitarmashbenefit.eventbrite.com and at City Winery on the day of the event. Purchasers of a benefit committee member ticket will enjoy a champagne hour prior to the general public event with a preview of the auction and early access to the Dream Guitars Room. All Guitar Mash attendees will enjoy a delectable brunch spread made possible with contributions from Fresh Direct, Murray's Cheese, Lagunitas Beer, Tito's Handmade Vodka, T Edward Wines, McClure's, and Zucker's Bagels. Other supporters include Anthony Brands and D'Addario.
