On October 27 punk rockers Tits of Clay-the off-stage alter ego of the band performing as the Angry Inch in the current Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch-will commemorate the first anniversary of Lou Reed's death with a tribute at Mercury Lounge where they will play Reed's Transformer in its entirety. As always, guest artists are sure to appear-though the band will never let on who's coming in advance! Tickets go on sale October 3 at 12 noon and will be available HERE.

"Rather than try to create a larger commercial endeavor, we want to have a small but eventful gathering of our family, friends and fans to celebrate the massive influence Lou Reed has on our art and lives," the band says, collectively. "In terms of Hedwig, no other artist had a greater influence on the songs or the story. So it seems fitting to us to gather, as we do, in a small New York night club and play some loud rock and roll."

Following successful sold-out shows at Rockwood Music Hall and Mercury Lounge, Tits of Clay recently launched a PledgeMusic campaign to bring fans an EP of covers and original tunes inspired by their Tony-winning run in the current Broadway production of Hedwig. The campaign recently garnered attention with the sale of an original Hedwig wig for $5,000. More info on the campaign available HERE.

"When I put the Angry Inch together for the Broadway production I knew they had to be authentic rock musicians," says Stephen Trask, composer, lyricist and co-creator of Hedwig. "So when they morphed into Tits of Clay and played that first Rockwood gig-before we even did our first preview-I knew we had accomplished something that would exceed our wildest dreams! As a standalone band the Tits have drawn from the spirit and legacy of Hedwig with an authentic embrace of the heart of our show; it's been a joy to watch and play with them.
