The Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, UC Davis is pleased to announce that single tickets for the 2014-15 season will go on sale this Friday, August 15. In addition, tickets to three Just Added performances in Jackson Hall will be available to the public for the first time: Ray LaMontagne, performing on October 12, 2014 at 7:30 p.m; Robot Planet Rising, An Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel, touching down on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 8 p.m.; and blues legend Buddy Guy on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 8 p.m.

Ten years ago Ray LaMontagne released his first album, Trouble, the gold-certified start to a fiercely ambitious, Grammy Award-winning, critically praised career that's encompassed three more albums, several EPs, a slew of soundtrack compilations and live performances fronting a variety of ensembles. His latest album, Supernova, bursts with a spirited bonhomie and a rocking, technicolor-tinged energy that shines from the stage at every performance. (This concert is presented in association with Another Planet Entertainment. Mondavi Center discounts do not apply to this performance.)

Last season, the Mondavi Center presented a whole new form of theatre, the Live-Action Graphic Novel, with The Intergalactic Nemesis. And now comes the sequel, Robot Planet Rising. Three actors voice dozens of characters, a Foley artist creates all the sound effects and a pianist plays a cinematic score while more than 1,250 individual full-color, hi-resolution comic book panels tell a hilarious sci-fi adventure visually on an enormous movie screen. And it is all done live in front of your eyes. Same format. New story. No previous Intergalactic experience necessary.

Buddy Guy's list of accomplishments is as profound as his signature guitar sound: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a chief influence to rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago's fabled West Side sound, and a living link to that city's halcyon days of electric blues. Guy will be here earlier in the season with the Experience Hendrix tour (October 16, 2014, 8 p.m.); this is the opportunity to enjoy a full evening with the blues master.

Tickets for these Just Added performances and all other Mondavi Center 2014-15 season events go on sale to the public on Friday, August 15. Tickets are available online at midnight via mondaviarts.org, or during regular business hours (Summer Hours: 12-6 p.m., M-F) via phone at 866-754-2787 and in person at the Mondavi Center Ticket Office on the UC Davis campus.
