The "choir with a sense of humor," The Washingtonians, reunites on December 5th (8pm) and 6th (2pm) to launch SHOWTUNES Theatre Company's 16th season. Over 80 singers will fill Benaroya Hall's intimate yet acoustically rich 500-seat Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall. This "best of" concert promises to delight die-hard fans and "newbies" with a distinctive choral style, memorable music and hilarious lyrics.

For Songs We Know, The Washingtonians founder and conductor Scott Warrender (Das Barbecu! The Texas Chainsaw Manicurist) pulls out all the stops. Audiences can expect the standard parade of odd-nicks and colorful characters including the "National Chair-dancing Champions" Don and Fluff LeQwape. Accompanied by the band, The King Counties, and the talented fiddler Eric Chappelle, the show delivers two joyful hours of laughter, choral music, and a door-prize you'll never forget.

This beloved choir was founded in 1993 by talented Seattle-based composer and lyricist Scott Warrender. By 2002 it had grown to 120 members and performed everywhere from The Seattle Unity Church, On the Boards, the Meydenbauer Center, The Rialto in Tacoma, The Moore and St. Mark's Cathedral. Now, after a 12 year hiatus, the group is thrilled to take the stage to kickoff SHOWTUNES fourth season at Benaroya Hall.
