The Old Ceremony Confirm Tour Dates; 'Fall Guy' Premieres

North Carolina-based The Old Ceremony has confirmed tour dates in support of Sprinter out July 10 on Yep Roc Records. Launching with two nights at Cat's Cradle Backroom in Carrboro, NC, the nine-city tour includes stops Arlington, VA, New York, Boston, Toronto, Newport, KY, Chicago, Nashville and Atlanta. The album's now available for pre-order with an instant download of "Fall Guy," which premiered today at AllMusic. Turning the reins over to the famed engineer and producer Mitch Easter, Sprinter was recorded at Fidelitorium Recordings. Progressing into new musical territory, the album features Southern alt-pop pioneers -- the dB's co-founder Chris Stamey and R.E.M.'s Mike Mills -- who inspired the band's creative vision.

Formed in 2004, the band-Django Haskins (vocals, guitar); Mark Simonsen (vibraphone, keyboards); Gabriele Pelli (violin); Dan Hall (drums) and Shane Hartman (bass) -- is named in honor of Leonard Cohen's classic 1974 album New Skin for The Old Ceremony.

Expanding its audience through diligent D.I.Y. roadwork, including a successful crowd-funded European tour adventure, they have garnered critical praise for their albums The Old Ceremony (2005), Our One Mistake (2006), Walk On Thin Air (2009), Tender Age (2010) and their 2012 Yep Roc debut Fairytales and Other Forms of Suicide. Haskins most recently was a featured performer in the acclaimed Big|Brave Star concert performances of the classic album, Sister Lovers aka Third.
