Fresh off a European tour that included shows with Kings of Leon and Neil Young and performances at numerous festivals, including British Summer Time in Hyde Park, The Last Internationale will perform at U.S. festivals including Lollapalooza in Chicago (August 2), the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA (September 13) and the Austin City Limits Festival (October 5). The band announce a US headline tour and will be going abroad to support Robert Plant in November. See below for itinerary.
We Will Reign, The Last Internationale's debut album, will be released by Epic Records on August 19. The band will make its national television debut on "Late Show with David Letterman" on August 27.
The band's founders, Delila Paz and Edgey Pires, quickly forged a reputation for poetic, socially conscious songs and explosive live performances, prompting Rolling Stone to declare, "New York's counterculture spirit lives on in The Last Internationale." The pair spent Thanksgiving 2013 at the home of Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, The Nightwatchman, Audioslave) and when they mentioned their need for a drummer, Morello connected them with Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave). After hearing their material and bonding with Edgey and Delila, Wilk signed on. The trio recorded We Will Reign with producer Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Neil Young) in Los Angeles.
Fans who pre-order We Will Reign on iTunes will instantly receive downloads of two tracks: the incendiary"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Indian Blood" and "Killing Fields, " which was recently heard in the hit FX series "Justified." The album is available for pre-order on Amazon in CD, vinyl and MP3 formats.
Beginning August 5, the track "Wanted Man" can be purchased at all digital retailers and it will be available instantly to those who pre-order the album on iTunes.
The Last Internationale, which has toured recently with Weezer and Kings of Leon, has won praise for its riveting live shows. Yahoo! Music noted, "The strikingly fervent, politically-charged rock band The Last Internationale stands out" and Billboard hailed their "hard-hitting modern rock mélange."
