Telemundo announced details of "Francisco en América," its coverage of Pope Francis's historic visit to Cuba and the United States. The network's coverage team will report on the Pope's journey starting with his departure from Rome's Fiumicino Airport, scheduled for 10 AM ET on September 19, and through his return to the Vatican on Sunday, September 27 at 8PM ET. "Francisco en América" will provide coverage on an unprecedented scale, including 10 correspondents who will document the Pope's travels from the Vatican to Havana, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, Washington D.C., New York and Philadelphia.

"Noticiero Telemundo" anchors María Celeste Arrarás and José Díaz-Balart and "Un Nuevo Día" co-anchor Ana María Canseco will lead the coverage, accompanied by a team of experts and correspondents on location at each one of the Pope's destinations. Beloved Mexican singer and actress Lucero will also participate in the coverage effort as the face of #ActosdeBondad, a campaign showcasing good works that will run in parallel with the Pope's visit on Telemundo and the network's digital platforms.

-Official welcome ceremony at the White House (9:15AM/6:15 PT)

-Canonization of Junípero Serra (4:15PM/1:15 PT)

Thursday, September 24:

-Address to the US Congress (10 AM ET/ 7 PT)

Friday, September 25:

-Address to the United Nations (10 AM ET/7 AM PT)

-Visit to the 9/11 Museum and Monument (11:30 AM ET/7:30 PT)

-Visit to Harlem (4PM ET/ 1 PT)

Saturday, September 26:

-Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul (10:30 AM ET/7:30 PT)

-Meeting with immigrants (4:45 PMT ET/1:45 PT)

Sunday, September 27:

-Mass at Franklin Square (4 PM ET/1 PT)

-Departure for ROME (7:45 PM ET/4:45 PT)

The network's coverage will extend to Noticias Telemundo digital platforms, including Telemundo.com, which will livestream key parts of the Pope's itinerary, and social media via Facebook/TelemundoNews, @TelemundoNews on Twitter, and Noticias Telemundo on Periscope, which, in addition to complementary coverage, will offer a direct dialogue with audiences. The Noticias Telemundo team will also document the papal visit with mobile technology, including cellphones, tablets and portable digital cameras.
