In celebration of the release of their critically acclaimed third studio album HOT CAKES(Wind-up), multi-platinum British rock group THE DARKNESS has partnered withAurasma--the world's leading augmented reality platform--to unveil the band'sfirst-ever interactive music app. THE DARKNESS APP, available via The App Store and Google Play, uses Aurasma's one-of-a-kind image recognition technology to unlock a virtual world whereby all memorabilia for THE DARKNESScomes to life.

By using "The Darkness Scanner" and holding a phone over any HOT CAKES albumartwork, tour posters, photos and memorabilia etc. interactive, hidden content will appear. "The Darkness Soundboard" includes songs from HOT CAKES that can be shared. THE DARKNESS APP allows exclusive access to official band news and Tweets, links to show tickets, alerts to watch the latest videos, and the option to add personal photos into the app by adding #TheDarkness to your Instagram photos.
