Often described as "an intergalactic John Hughes party on Neptune," the LA-based synth-pop duo premiered their new EP, Electric, today on PopMatters. From the poppy rhythms of its title track, to the pulsing bass on the closing track, "Stratospheric," this EP is as jolting as its namesake.

But that won't be anything new for those familiar with Story of the Running Wolf. The two have developed a reputation for delivering pumping, high-energy synth tunes that cut through the neon fog cascading down the dance floor.

With performances at CMJ, SXSW, TBD Fest, Lightning in a Bottle and Palm Springs Pride under their belt, the band headed into the studio in 2014 alongside producer Harlan Silverman (Mayer Hawthorne, Madi Diaz) to craft their new record. The end product, Electric, is a collection of songs that are unabashedly fun, straightforward, and dance inducing.
