Stoneham Theatre to Offer Three Jazz Concerts in January

Stoneham Theatre is "jazzing up" January with three concerts: The Jay Geils Jazz & Blues Revue, Florence LaRue & the 5th Dimension, and Loretta LaRoche's new show, Life Is Not A Stress Rehearsal. This exciting line-up has something for everyone and gives audiences a chance to experience well-known acts up-close and personal in Stoneham Theatre's intimate, theatrical setting.

Ring in the New Year with three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee, Jay Geils. The Jay Geils Jazz and Blues Revue features award-winning jazz and blues guitarist Gerry Beaudoin, sultry vocalist Cassandre McKinely, and young vibraphone phenomenon Gerard Beaudoin III, backed by bass, drums, and saxophone. Audiences will enjoy a bluesy trip down America's musical highway with songs from Count Basie to BB King, and top the evening off with a complimentary glass of champagne. The Jay Geils Jazz & Blues Revue plays for two performances only, December 31, 2013 at 7:00pm and 10:00pm. Tickets: VIP $75; Premium $60; Standard $50.

Audiences will have four opportunities to get groovy with Florence LaRue & the 5th Dimension, January 10 - 12, 2014. After catapulting to stardom in 1967 with the smash hit Up, Up, and Away, The 5th Dimension released over a dozen hit albums and received 14 gold records, 6 platinum records and 6 Grammy Awards. Their other classics include such hits as: One Less Bell to Answer, Wedding Bell Blues, and Aquarius / Let the Sun Shine In. Ms. LaRue is one of the original members of this timeless group. Florence LaRue and the 5th Dimension will appear at Stoneham Theatre Friday, January 10, 2014 at 8:00pm; Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 3:00pm and 8:00pm; and Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2:00pm. Tickets: VIP $65; Premium $60; Standard $50.

And Loretta LaRoche brings her new show, Life is Not a Stress Rehearsal, to Stoneham Theatre for just two performances, January 18 - 19, 2014. For most of us, life has become such a pressure cooker of unrealistic expectations, information overload, relentless marketing and workaholism that we spend our days stressed out over being stressed out. Loretta makes us see the wisdom of a more civilized time when no one carried a cell phone during a peaceful walk on the beach. With her contemporary wit and a hearty dose of old-world wisdom, Loretta brings a breath of fresh air for everyone who's suffocating in our techno crazed, germ-phobic, "go-go-go" world. Loretta LaRoche will appear at Stoneham Theatre on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 8:00pm and Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2:00pm. Tickets: VIP $60; Premium $50; Standard $45.

For tickets, call the Stoneham Theatre Box Office at 781-279-2200, or order online at www.stonehamtheatre.org.
