Steve Martin and Martin Short to Play with The Steep Canyon Rangers at Morris Performing Arts Center

Longtime comedians STEVE MARTIN and MARTIN SHORT will play a one-night only show at the Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend, on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. Martin and Short will be joined by the Grammy-winning STEEP CANYON RANGERS, the bluegrass band with which Martin frequently performs. The show, "An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life," includes stand-up, film clips, musical numbers and conversations about their lives in show business.

Tickets are $78.50, $98.50, $148.50, and $198.50 and are ON SALE Friday, September 30, at 12:00 p.m. Tickets will go on sale at the Morris Box Office, by phone at 574-235-9190 or 800-537-6415, or online at MorrisCenter.org. The Morris Box Office is open regular business hours Monday-Friday, 12:00-5:00 p.m. and is located at 211 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana. Tickets can also be purchased with credit card at Morris Ticket Outlet: Hammes Bookstore & Café located at Eddy Street Commons, South Bend.

STEVE MARTIN began his career on "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour," for which he earned his first Emmy Award for writing in 1969. During the mid-'70s he was a stand-up comedian on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" and appeared on HBO's "On Location" and NBC's "Saturday Night Live." Martin's films include "The Jerk," "Trains and Automobiles," "Roxanne," "Parenthood" and "Father of the Bride."

MARTIN SHORT, a celebrated comedian and actor, has won fans and accolades in TV, film and theater since his breakout season on "Saturday Night Live" almost 30 years ago. He became a fan favorite for his portrayal of characters such as Ed Grimley, lawyer Nathan Thurm and "legendary songwriter" Irving Cohen. Short's popularity on SNL led him to cross over quickly into feature films. He made his debut in "Three Amigos," followed by roles in "Inner Space," "Three Fugitives," "Father of the Bride," "Clifford," "Madagascar 3" "Frankenweenie," and "Mars Attacks!"
