New Amsterdam -- a non-profit artist service organization dedicated to supporting the public's engagement with new music through presentation and distribution -- will celebrate a banner year with a benefit party at the beautiful brand new Williamsburg venue/restaurant, Baby's All Right.

The party features performances by one of New Amsterdam's newest artists, the stunning Trevor Wilson & Vocal Ensemble, as well as acclaimed producer/composer Son Lux, whose debut recording earned him the title of "Best New Artist" by NPR. His just-released third album Lanterns was called "one of fall's most fascinating releases" by Stereogum.

Admission is $20 suggested minimum donation at the door and includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drink specials. New Amsterdam Presents' Inaugural Year-end Benefit feat. Son Lux and the Trevor Wilson & Vocal Ensemble tonight, Monday, December 16th from 6-8 PM at Baby's All Right, 146 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11211.

Last week, New Amsterdam announced its partnership with Q2 Music to release a series of remixes of Caroline Shaw's Pulitzer Prize-winning Partita for 8 Voices. Each week for eight weeks, New Amsterdam is unveiling a new remix exclusively through Q2, who will stream one new remix per week on their website.

The second remix in this installment (the inaugural remix was by composer/keyboardist Lorna Dune) comes from Paris-born, New York-based composer Daniel Wohl, who has been praised as one of his generation's "imaginative and skillful creators" (The New York Times) and as one of the artists "shaping our contemporary music scene and defining what it means to be a composer in the 21st century" (NPR). His widely acclaimed debut album Corps Exquis is out now on New Amsterdam Records.

Forthcoming remixes include contributions from Olga Bell, Morgan Packard, Violetness, Aaron Roche, No Lands, and more.

More about New Amsterdam and its mission: Over the five years since its inception by composers William Brittelle, Judd Greenstein, and Sarah Kirkland Snider, New Amsterdam has presented and curated over 75 live events and released over 50 records that have collectively garnered two Grammy nominations, a Pulitzer Prize, and numerous features and countless appearances on The New York Times, Pitchfork, NPR, and other major publications.

These achievements, while they reflect New Amsterdam's strength as an organization, are a direct extension of the talent and skill of the incredible artists in the New Amsterdam roster. These artists - composers, performers, bands and ensembles - are united not by a common sound but by their lofty artistic standards and a shared desire to continually develop their craft, taking chances artistically while engaging with as wide a range of audiences as possible.

Founded on principles of community, artistic diversity, and stylistic freedom, New Amsterdam will use donations to continue to support today's most innovative artists in developing their daring visions and bringing their work to the widest possible audience.
