According Rolling Stone, stage and screen actress Scarlett Johansson has joined forces with the new band the Singles. Listen to their first track, "Candy", here!

"The idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls. I wanted it to be like those bands," Johansson said, listing the Bangles and the Go-Go's as inspirations, "ultra-pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke."

The Singles features Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris and Julia Haltigan, with Este Haim on drums.

Johansson has previously released an album of Tom Waits covers, worked with Pete Yorn and appeared in Bob Dylan's "When the Deal Goes Down" music video.

Johansson's recent big screen credits include LUCY, CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER, CHEF, HER, UNDER THE SKIN, DON JON and more. Among her other upcoming film projects are AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, HAIL, CAESAR!, THE JUNGLE BOOK and more.

The actress has also starred on Broadway in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF and A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, for which she won a 2010 Tony Award.
