The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) will host the annual musical show, Techapella, an event that brings together a cappella groups from a bevy of Silicon Valley companies to showcase the best vocal ensembles in the tech industry. Joined in the spirit of camaraderie and by a love of music, a cappella groups will converge at the Curran in San Francisco on December 7 to perform unaccompanied vocal works in all manner of genre, cheered on by friends and colleagues. This is the first occasion SFCM will have partnered with leading companies in the tech industry.

The participating a cappella groups comprise employees from the tech industry's most visible companies: Googapella (Google), The Vocal Network (Facebook), Pintunes(Pinterest), [in] tune (LinkedIn), Songbirds (Twitter), Square Registers (Square), and Syncopation (Dropbox).

Techapella, now in its fourth year, is one of the tech industry's most eagerly awaited, inter-company events. The informal, non-competitive concert setting allows for participants to expand the reach of their artistic expression in a friendly, welcoming environment while exhibiting their collective talent in a vocal spectacle that has continually drawn sold-out crowds. In past years, vocal groups have performed a dynamic spread of tunes ranging from the latest hits to pop classics and other favorites.

"This year's Techapella is sure to be our biggest yet," say Techapella founders Aaron Roan (Googapella) and Laolee Xiong (The Vocal Network). "Each Techapella offers us the chance to promote the creative arts and industry collaboration in Silicon Valley, and gives us the opportunity to flex our artistic muscles in the most affable of environments and with the friendliest of peers. The influences and platforms our companies have are far reaching and we want to do our part in bringing the tech industry and the arts community together."

"We are thrilled to present this year's Techapella concert in San Francisco," says SFCM President David H. Stull. "As music continues to expand its reach and importance in our lives, this project is a testament to the joy and spirit that we all derive from coming together for a live performance. We look forward to continuing our support for Techapella in the future."
