Music lovers will rejoice with the return of one of America's greatest and most successful progressive rock bands, KANSAS, to Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. Special guests Arc & Stones will open the show for the iconic rock band.

Kansas has spent more than four decades as a part of the soundtrack of the lives of multiple generations of music lovers. The band's first public statement appeared on their self-titled album in 1974: "From the beginning, we considered ourselves and our music different and we hope will always remain so."

Kansas has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-platinum albums ("Leftoverture," "Point of Know Return," "Best of Kansas"), one platinum live album ("Two for the Show"), and a million-selling gold single, "Dust in the Wind." The band has appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the 70s and 80s and had played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. "Carry On Wayward Son" was the second most played track on classic rock radio in 1995 and went on to number one in 1997.

The band, which is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, keyboardist David Manion, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, and original guitarist Richard Williams, continue to tour for large and enthusiastic audiences around the world and remain a fixture on classic rock radio today.

Kansas recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. The band released the documentary film, "Miracles Out of Nowhere," in March 2015 telling the unbelievable, true story of how a local band began its journey in America's heartland.
