Folk-pop troubadour Rob Townsend has announced his debut solo album How To (make an album in 14 days) will be released September 9. The album features heartwarming tracks such as "Wherever You Go" and "Clatskanie," where percussive guitar riffs blend with bluesy plano to spotlight Rob's scintillating croon. Uptempo cuts "Skinny Boys" and "I'd Rather" showcase infectious melodies, bouncing bass lines, and mood-lifting horns. Today he shares first album cut, the jangly pop ballad "Time To Turn The Heat On" premiered by OUT. We encourage you to post and share!

Since his days at the helm of Americana band The Belleville Outfit, nominated for "Best New" and "Emerging" Artist at the Americana Music Association in 2009, Rob Townsend's life journey has been transformative. After coming out as gay at age 19, Rob's move from Austin to NYC helped him to embrace a new found creative clarity. In a recent interview with NPR Weekend Edition he shared, "even things as simple as, like, spending time at night in venues where there might be DJs playing - I was like, oh, my gosh, this is great. Why don't I incorporate this into what I'm doing?"

Having performed on stages across the country with The Belleville Outfit including Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and more, NYC fans will have a chance to experience these new songs live at his Rockwood Music Hall residency on August 26 and September 24. Stay tuned for more news and opportunities coming soon!
