Classic Bach, Beethoven and Jimi Hendrix melodies will take on a new edge in COM Guitars' spring concert April 17 in the COM Fine Arts Building.

The free concert will unite the music of the 1960s and 1560s. The quartet of COM students on electric guitars will play new arrangements of classical music and classic rock.

"We do a little bit of everything," said director John Kiefer. "We'll play 'Fanfare for the Common Man.' You've heard it before but probably not the way we're going to do it."

The "Renaissance rock" music, 16th-century tunes arranged for electric guitars, is back by popular demand after its debut at COM during the group's prior spring concert.

COM music classes and private lessons are open to degree-seeking and continuing education students to hone their skills for personal enjoyment or preparation in transferring to a university.
