Raw Material Brings Explosive Live Music to the Royal Festival Hall

Artists from Raw Material, the Brixton-based music and media charity, will be teaming up with Lambeth Music Service to perform as part of the London Southbank Centre's 3-month long Festival of Neighbourhood.

Their performance, subtitled 'Lambeth Live Explosion' will form part of the 'From Lambeth With Love' segment of the day. The artists, including Monster Playground, FLOetic Lara, Tagz and Potent Whisper will be bringing an eclectic mix of hip hop, jazz, and electronic instrumental breaks to the Royal Festival Hall's 800-capacity Clore Ballroom.

Tim Brown, founder of Raw Material, commented, "This event will be showcasing some of the newest grooves from young south London musicians and will give audiences a taste of what is going on within music education and youth development in London."

Performance details and timings are as follows:

'LAMBETH LIVE EXPLOSION'-13 thJuly - a showcase of new music and performance from young people, musicians and artists working across education, schools,

youth service, mental health, artist and career development and the community

12.00pm-HillmeadPrimary SchoolChoir. This stunning primary youth choir bring you the sound of Urban Lambeth with an uplifting feel.

12.15pm-In Harmony Lambeth. In Harmony Lambeth bring a smaller more intimate double string quartet version of their internationally acclaimed El Sistema project.

1.00pm -Tippett Music Centre Wind Band. One of Lambeth Music Service's finest and busiest youth Ensembles. Expect a mix of Latin, Jazz and Classical sounds.

15.00pm - Raw Material Brixton present an action packed hour of fresh new work from across their music and arts programme, featuring gospel sounds from Raw Chorus, the latest productions from Raw's Young Producers and Raw Sounds studio sessions played live,brand new work from our collaboration with the SHED and WAC Performing Arts and Media College and finally a specially commissioned piece with Soothsayser's front man Robin Hopcraft, electronics from Monster Playground and fast rising talented young vocalists FLOetic Lara, Tagz and Potent Whisper.
