Primus and the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble is the eighth studio album by American rock group Primus. The album is a re-imagining of the soundtrack of the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It is the first full length album with Tim "Herb" Alexander since 1995's Tales from the Punchbowl. Primus and the Chocolate Factory reflects the 1971 movie's soundtrack like a funhouse mirror. The formerly endearing "Pure Imagination" becomes a teetering carnival ride, while "Golden Ticket" is a twisted march led by Les Claypool's hammered bass. In Primus' hands, the benevolent chocolatier of "Candy Man" is transformed into a raving Bellevue inmate.
