Portland Ovations' POP! 20th Anniversary Fundraiser Set for Tonight

POP! (Portland Ovations Presents) is an exciting evening that transforms The Portland Company into a lively indoor street fair with pop-up music, dance and circus performances by Maine artists and delicious food from some of Southern Maine's top restaurants. POP! now in its 20th year, is an arts celebration and a silent auction benefit raising money to support Ovations Offstage, Portland Ovations' school- and community-based arts-programs. The party takes place tonight, October 7th at 5:30pm inside The Portland Company at 58 Fore Street, Portland.

Food vendors and restaurants providing savory bites all night will include; Evo, Flatbread Company, Tandem Coffee Roasters, Dean Sweets, K. Horton Specialty Foods, The Chebeague Island Inn, Personal Touch Catering amongst others. Beer and wine will be served by The Royal Oak Room. Along with delicious morsels from over twelve restaurants the evening also includes pop-up performances from Taiko Maine Dojo, Circus Conservatory circus artists, puppeteers and more. Topping it all off are the fantastic silent auction items to bid on such as; a road bike and a hybrid style bike, a custom suit from Joseph's, earrings from Springer's Jewelers valued at $999, dinner for 8 at an architectural triumph on the shores of Cape Elizabeth, Portland Ovations performance tickets and much more.

The proceeds from POP! enables Portland Ovations and Ovations Offstage to offer free pre-performance lectures by local Maine experts prior to most Ovations' presentations; a School-Time Performance series that connects schools, teachers and students to the performing arts, as well as in-school workshops with artists and artist-educators; Masterclasses and workshops with visiting artists; arts happenings around town and study guides and other educational resources for students and educators.
