Pianist Polly Ferman and concert accordionist Antonio Peruch will present Homage to Tango tonight, May 22 - 7:00 PM at Symphony Space/Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street in Manhattan. The event is sponsored by Pan American Musical Art Research, the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Arts Council.

Uruguayan-American Polly Ferman, Italian classical concert accordionist Antonio Peruch, and special guests, Canada's Vaughan String Quartet (whose members are from Brazil and Italy), will perform tangos of Argentinean composers Daniel Binelli and Astor Piazzolla. This will be the New York Debut for Mr. Peruch and the Quartet.

This concert will celebrate the release of two Ferman/Peruch CDs: Loving: The Tangos of Astor Piazzolla and Homage to Tango: The Music of Daniel Binelli, the first recording completely dedicated to the compositions of Daniel Binelli, famed bandoneonist/composer and former member of Astor Piazzolla's orchestra. Mr. Peruch performs on a special Italian-made, ergonomically-designed concert accordion.

Tickets are $35 day of show, $25 in advance and $20 students/seniors, available at www.symphonyspace.org/event/8738/Music/homage-to-tango. For more information, call 212-864-5400 or visit us4.campaign-archive2.com/?u=8c05456db1977eaaa28e5fb75&id=4bbc9b51d9.

Polly Ferman, a concert pianist and a native of Uruguay, founded Pan American Musical Art Research in 1984 to help bring Latin American culture to the United States. "When I first came to New York, I realized how much audiences enjoyed my Latin American repertory, and I realized that I had the chance to either keep that success to myself or help to open doors for other artists from Latin America. I founded PAMAR to help support Latin American artists flourish in North America." Under the umbrella of PAMAR, Ferman has also created Latin American Cultural Week, an annual event held in NYC and Shall We Tango, a citywide Tango festival. Visit her at www.pollyferman.net.

Antonio Peruch is one of the world's finest virtuoso classical concert accordionists. He has performed before enthusiastic audiences in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Italy. His performances have been heard on Canadian and Italian national radio and on the Internet.
