Latin musicians Joan Sebastian and Ramón Ayalahave had to cancel a U.S. leg of their concert tour including their concert tonight, September 13, 2013 at Aurora's RiverEdge Park.

Replacing the duo is Alfredo Bojorquez ("El Puma de Sinaloa"), a traditional Mexican singer who has embraced his career singing at mainly jaripeos performing on horses and singing traditional Mexican corridos to romantic ballads, and Paquita La Del Barrio (a songstress from the barrio), Mexico's popular ranchera music star, with an edge!

She represents musically the feminine point of view for relationships.

Tickets are $30 in advance; $35 at the door; $75 Sky Deck, which includes food, drinks and the concert.

The RiverEdge box office is currently contacting all Sebastian/Ayala ticket buyers to arrange refunds or offer exchanges into the Paquita concert. Ticket holders are also welcome to contact the RiverEdge Park box office, 630.896.6666, or stop by the nearby Paramount Theatre, the satellite box office for RiverEdge, located at 23 E. Galena Boulevard, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The RiverEdge box office is also open onsite any day that RiverEdge is hosting a concert or event this summer, starting at 10 a.m.

"Joan and Ramón were our first big concerts for the Hispanic community at RiverEdge, and it was also the kick off to the Fiestas Patrias Festival at the Park for the following two days," explained RiverEdge Park President & CEO Tim Rater. "We didn't want to let everyone down by just canceling the concert all together. We got a lot of input from partners in the Hispanic community about potential shows and we were lucky enough to get Paquita as the headliner and El Puma to start the evening. It's going to be a great night."

Alfredo Bojorquez (better known to the world as El Puma) is a native of Guamuchil, Sinaloa, Mexico and has an extensive career of almost 30 years where he has recorded 48 albums in banda and with mariachi, 49 movies, and composed dozens of his own songs. In the majority of his shows (jaripeos) he performs on a horse for a spectacular show and delivers interpretations of different genres.

Paquita La Del Barrio (aka Francisca Viveros Barradas) was born in 1947 in Alto Lucero, Veracruz and started her career in Mexico City in 1970. Her signature phrase, with which she often teases male spectators in her shows, is "¿Me estás oyendo, inútil?" ("Are you listening to me, you good-for-nothing?"). Her albums and songs are jukebox staples in Mexican clubs and cantinas. Many admirers, particularly outside Mexico, also appreciate Paquita for her camp value. She was married twice. Her first marriage ended when she discovered her husband's infidelity. Her second marriage lasted 31 years, and ended with her husband's death in 2004. Most of her songs are dedicated to her husband who she did not like. One of her best known is "Rata De Dos Patas" ("Two-legged rat"), in which a rat is a metaphor for her man.

The September 13th concert is sponsored by La Ley/107.9 "La Que Manda En Chicago" Radio, Fifth Third Bank and Reflejos Newspaper.

The September 13th concert kicks off Aurora's Fiestas Patrias Festival, Saturdayand Sunday, September 14 and 15 at RiverEdge, the new home for the Fox Valley's premier outdoor celebration of Mexican culture. The two day festival features a variety of international music acts, folklorico dancing, exhibit booths and food vendors. For more information, visit ahcc-il.com/fiestas-patrias.
