Well known Americana music duo, Robin and Linda Williams, will be featured in Barter Theatre's upcoming production about Civil War strategist Stonewall Jackson.

Come with Robin and Linda as they cross over the river into "Stonewall Country" and into the soul of a man who is undoubtedly one of the greatest military strategists in American history. Hear the voices of Stonewall, his soldiers, A.P. Hill and even Jeb Stuart sing out to you from the Barter Theatre stage.

Robin and Linda Williams will be joined by Jim Watson, Jason Petty and Emily Mikesell to complete the cast of "Stonewall Country." Audience members may recognize Jason and Emily from their roles in Barter's "Ring of Fire," performed in 2014.

Robin and Linda Williams, a husband and wife music duo, perform a unique blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country. Robin and Linda performed at Barter in 2006 with Garrison Keillor, their good friend and the host of "A Prairie Home Companion."

On April 23, Robin and Linda will return to the Barter stage to perform, "Stonewall Country." This production was originally staged at the Lime Kiln Theatre in Lexington, Virginia. This remodeled concert version allows Robin and Linda to detail this military master's life with passion.

Patron favorite, Eugene Wolf, will direct the upcoming production of "Stonewall Country." Wolf said, "What better way to travel this terrain than with music written by one of America's finest folk duos?"

Wolf, curiously, asked of the production, "What are the wages of war on the soul of a man? And how does he find peace?" It is questions like these that this production of "Stonewall Country" strives to delve into. "Stonewall Country," more than a traditional historical production, will seek to sift through the very soul of Stonewall Jackson, rather than just innumerate the accolades of his existence.

"Stonewall Country" will have a limited run from April 23-May 9.

"Stonewall Country" is made possible by John and LeAnn Turbyfill. Barter Theatre is sponsored in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
