Effective Immediately PR is proud to formally announce "The Acoustic Buzz" monthly music series for April! The next showcase is slated for April 16th, 2015 at NYC's Astor Place Starbucks location (13-25 Astor Place), and will last from 3-7 p.m. New artist performances include all-female mariachi band Mariachi Flor De Toloache, soulful-pop duo Nalani & Sarina, soul-rock troupe Jesus on the Mainline, folk-rockers 5J Barrow and the indie-folk trio The Spring Standards.

To kick off the first spring season showcase, all-female group, Mariachi Flor de Toloache, will take the stage at 3 p.m. NY Times praises, "Alongside jazz standards, Brazilian songs, Outkast riffs, an Adele cover and other arrangements that nod to their diverse backgrounds, their repertoire includes Mexican classics like 'La Negra,' 'El Cascabel' and 'El Rey." At 3:35 p.m., the 15-piece soulful powerhouse group, Jesus on the Mainline, will perform tracks from their recently released self-titled, debut EP. Crave Online praises the band, saying "[JOTM] blends the spirit of Aretha Franklin into a soulful dance-romp through territories inhabited by Fitz and The Tantrums, Portugal The Man and beyond." You can catch their headlining Brooklyn Bowl show on April 28th! But as for The Acoustic Buzz installment for April, there's still more music to catch with twin-sister duo Nalani & Sarina at 4:15 p.m., performing songs from their upcoming EP, Scattered World, slated to release this June. PopDose compared their music to "The Purple One," proclaiming, "The sisters out Prince Prince with their sexy, fresh, sonically-tight, new power soul throwdown." Next up at 5:00 p.m., 5J Barrow will hit the stage with their eclectic range of influences (including Broadway), who The Deli NYC describe as "Drama-tinged folk music that could rise the dead." In 2014, this earth folk-rock sextet won NYC's Ultimate Battle of the Boroughs and released their debut full-length album, From the Dim Sweet Light. Closing out the music for the night are three-part harmony-driven trio, The Spring Standards - beginning promptly at 5:35 p.m. Following the success of their debut EP, the trio appeared on "Late Night with CONAN O'Brien," and NPR saluted their sound, calling the group "ethereal indie pop."
