James Cameron's Oscar-winning hit movie, Avatar has a stunning attraction at Walt Disney World (WDW) inspired by the tale. PANDORA-THE WORLD OF AVATAR is now open in Disney's Animal Kingdom. The otherworldly planet of Pandora brilliantly comes to life where guests are immersed in the culture of the Na'vi people and elements of the story that has captivated movie fans and many more. With the first of multiple Avatar sequels planned for 2020, this is an ideal time to visit WDW's newest guest experience.

On Wednesday, May 24, Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger and filmmaker James Cameron dedicated the new land at Animal Kingdom. Walt Disney Imagineering collaborated with Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment to develop the attraction. James Cameron said, "A dream has come true." He further stated, "Thanks to this collaboration, anyone can visit Pandora."

Broadwayworld.com visited PANDORA-THE WORLD OF AVATAR where we enjoyed every moment of our discoveries that both entertained and enlightened. Disney has made history with this innovative addition to Animal Kingdom that celebrates nature, stimulates imaginations, and also creates a nighttime experience with Pandora's striking bioluminescent landscape.

PANDORA-THE WORLD OF AVATAR invites guests to soar through a fantastic landscape on the back of a mountain banshee in the thrilling 3D attraction, "Avatar Flight of Passage." Your imagination will also take flight as you stroll through the mystical land with towering floating mountains, dramatic waterfalls, and plant life that could only exist light years away from earth. The family-friendly "Na'vi River Journey" is a mysterious river ride hidden in the bioluminescent rainforest where you'll encounter unusual and exotic plants, the creatures of the rainforest, and Na'vi Shaman of Songs.

The Na'vi people have a deep respect for the natural world and the unique vegetation at Pandora reflects that connection. To learn about the flora and its properties, you can talk to one of the attraction's knowledgeable Field Guides. We chatted with Nia who told us interesting facts about some of the plants. The Pandoran environment has "vein pods" that absorb toxic gas and a giant "reclining flask" that helps to seed the area. You can even interact with the reclining flask with a simple touch of your hand.

When the sun sets over Animal Kingdom, nighttime invites an enchanting experience at PANDORA-THE WORLD OF AVATAR with its bioluminescent setting. Sights and sounds are both beautiful and mysterious and even the paths beneath your feet glow.

You don't have to be an "Avatar" movie buff to be amazed by PANDORA-THE WORLD OF AVATAR. Walt Disney World has succeeded in presenting another wonderful attraction that enhances the guest experience. For more information, visit: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/.
