"OU Big Band is excited to perform at the Detroit Jazz Festival," Brown said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform at such a high-profile jazz festival."

The band will appear on the Mack Avenue Waterfront Stage from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1. All events at the Detroit Jazz Festival are free.
