On June 7, dozens of talented young people will entertain Orange County with sensational sounds and moves when Melody Makers OC's up-and-comers take to the stage for the annual OC Pop Concert. It takes place at OCSA's Margaret A. Webb Theater, 801 Main Street, in Santa Ana (92701).

Sponsored by the Melody Makers Scholarship Foundation http://melodymakersoc.com/scholarship/ and Music Education Center, the annual event celebrates local singers and dancers and showcases strides they have made in the past year under the tutelage of standout music coach Melanie Andrews and her staff.

Truly one of the area's best-kept secrets, the OC Pop Concert pulls out all the stops to entertain and, in doing so, wins rave reviews every year. Featured front and center are Melody Makers' voice and dance students, as well as MDI Hits new break out teen recording artists,

A special celebrity guest, to be announced in May, will add an extra dose of fun.

Melody Makers CEO Melanie Andrews, a multiplatinum songwriter, spearheads the spectacular event that has a twofold goal. It raises scholarship money for musically gifted young artists and showcases the talents of young people in the Melody Makers program for a large audience. As a nonprofit, Melody Makers Scholarship Foundation contributes to music education in Orange County by providing artist development in a high-energy, professional music environment. MDI (Melody Makers' sister company) produces and creates new music for new driven artists in a professional recording studio. Throughout the year, the singers and dancers perform at diverse venues, such as OCSA's Margaret A. Webb Theater, Universal Studios Hollywood, the OC Fairgrounds, and Disneyland.

Melody Makers & MDI Headquarters is at 104 Discovery in Irvine, CA.

Concert producers are Melanie Andrews and the coaches/producers on the staff of her Music Development Incorporated (MDI). Coming from a background as a musical child prodigy, Andrews grew up to co-write songs and sing for famous artists and groups, including Earth, Wind and Fire and a #1 Billboard hit for Janet Jackson, and more. She also writes music for TV/Film, including a popular song for the ABC soap opera "General Hospital." http://musicdevelopmentinc.com/about/our-ceo/

In Melanie Andrews, students have a program director that enthusiastically supports and promotes program participants. Year-round, she and her coaches tutor music/dance enthusiasts in performing skills. Andrews also arranges access to venues and events where they can explore their musical gifts. "Her positive, fun attitude and genuine interest in helping young people make Melanie a real gift to Orange County," says Jennifer Shoquist, M.D., mother of performing group member, London San Luis. "The kids love learning from Melanie and the other coaches and choreographers, and I only wish more parents knew about this incredible program."

"Our OC Pop Concert is a professional, fantastic evening full of great performances of popular music for kids, tweens, and teens that parents will love, too," Melanie Andrews says. "What is most rewarding about this annual event is that it allows us to raise funds to help those that can't afford our programs and classes by awarding them a full year's music scholarship! Our Scholarship Foundation also gives to local youth shelters and other programs! Few concerts allow audiences to enjoy future young stars in an authentic, professional,Pop Concert, family-friendly environment."
MDI's very popular Youth Internet radio station, http://hotpopradio.com/ also supports the OC Pop Concert annually by running on-air concert commercial spots.

Melody Makers Scholarship Foundation welcomes corporate and private support for this year's event. Interested press and sponsors can contact Melanie Andrews at 949-423-5710. Melody Makers will present its 2015 scholarship winner at the concert.
