On June 11th, New York City will host its very first annual The Other Festival at Spring Studios. Featuring an all female line-up, The Other Festival provides a space and platform for all women to listen, learn and share their experiences on what it means to face and overcome challenges in the modern working world, how they re-wrote the rules of a successful business, put new systems in place and continue to push boundaries for future generations. "I'm proud that New York City will serve as the launching ground for The Other Festival," said Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen. "Women in business are the backbone of our economy. We want to make New York City a place to celebrate and support women. Through The Other Festival we are giving the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders the tools they need to succeed."

The Other Festival will bring together some of the most respected female entrepreneurs, influencers, trailblazers and philanthropists from the music, fashion, film, art, food, design and technology worlds. Participants will be providing workshops, panels, performances and mentoring for this special one-day only event.

The day - which will be split into three parts - will begin with talks, workshops and demos on everything from design and branding to social media, each providing attendees with the tools and inspiration to help turn their own ideas into action.

Successful self-made business owners and personalities such as Rosario Dawson (actress, activist, entrepreneur), Melissa Ben Ishay (founder of Baked By Melissa), Reshma Saujani (founder of Girls Who Code), Stephanie Mark (founder of The Coveteur), Naomi Campbell (model, actress, entrepreneur), and Lauren Maillian (Host on Oxygen's "Quit Your Day Job") will be offering insight and advice. For a full list of announced participants, see below.

Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to shop from the exhibitors and meet the founders and business owners via the SMART SHOP Village, a marketplace for female creators and business owners.

Finally, the day will wrap with special performances and talks from artists Justine Skye, Natalia Clavier (Thievery Corporation) Brooke Candy, Yuna, Chelsea Layland, and many more who will also be speaking about their experiences in the music industry.

General admission tickets start at $75 and can be purchased online at www.theotherfestival.eventbrite.com

The Other Festival is spearheaded by Dee Poku, founder of the influential women's leadership program WIE Network, which aims to empower women in the work force.
