The Shakey Tables, a NYC funk rock band, is hosting its third annual benefit for New York Cares Coat Drive, this time adding a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdera to help boost donations.

The benefit show will take place on November 21, 2014 at 7:30pm at Bowery Electric, 327 Bowery, New York, NY. The cover charge will be waived for patrons that bring coats to donate to New York Cares' annual coat drive, and The Shakey Tables will donate 100% of its proceeds from ticket sales/cover charges to benefit New York Cares. The Shakey Tables' performance will feature songs from their new album, A Shakey Table Situation, among other favorites. Bowery Electric will also donate a portion of their bar revenue to the drive.

"We're so excited to support New York Cares' coat drive again this year," said Jaclyn Dima, lead singer of The Shakey Tables. "This time we're starting early with a show to kick off the drive, rather than end it, so we can get as much awareness out there as possible. We would love to have everyone come out to our show to support New York Cares, but we also came up with a plan for those who can't make it. We've teamed up with our friends at Crowdera to fundraise on their platform, so everyone can participate to help us keep New Yorkers warm," Dima added.

The Shakey Tables will launch the crowdfunding campaign on Crowdera (http://www.crowdera.co), a crowdfunding platform that supports educational and nonprofit organizations, the second week of November, facilitating donations to make it possible for New York Cares to collect, sort, and distribute much needed coats throughout the five boroughs. All supporters will receive a free download of The Shakey Tables' new album, and some will also receive T-shirts from New York Cares and other rewards.

"We are thrilled The Shakey Tables have put together a fun campaign for a great cause," said Stephanie Jelley, CMO of Crowdera. "With Crowdera's new 'no fee" policy, every penny goes straight to help New York Cares in its mission to serve New York City."

"We appreciate having a New York band call attention to the ongoing needs of other New Yorkers," said Gary Bagley, New York Cares Executive Director. "This year's goal is to supply 100,000 men, women, and children with coats, so we're hoping events like this one with The Shakey Tables brings some new people forward to help out in this immense effort."

New York Cares is New York City's largest volunteer management organization. New York Cares runs vital programs for 1,300 nonprofits, public schools, and city agencies to help people in need throughout the five boroughs. Every dollar donated to New York Cares amounts to $6 in service to the community.

Dima added, "A special shout out to Bowery Electric for hosting our event and contributing to the cause."

The Shakey Tables, blending funk, rock, and pop, includes Jaclyn Dima (lead vocals), Ruth Hartke and Andi Rae Healy (backup vocals), Jona Carson (guitar), Charles Becker (bass), Mike Graves (drums), and Jackie Macri (keyboard), along with special guests Ian Schaefer, Chris Hiatt, and Robert Donnelly comprising the horn section.
