Metallica today announced additional live dates in Europe next summer. In addition to three dates in Germany announced last week, the band has added dates in The Netherlands, Belgium, and England. See below for a list of announced dates with on-sale information. Additional dates will be announced later this week and all shows in Germany are on-sale now.

For the first time, the multi-platinum, award-winning band will be performing an All Request show. As a special tribute to their fans, the band has introduced "Metallica By Request", the ultimate interactive Metallica concert experience.

Fans who purchase tickets online to these upcoming European dates will be invited to vote on the set list Metallica will play at their show - giving them the chance to help build their dream set list from 30+ years of Metallica's material and close to 140 recorded songs to date. Metallica's traditional 18-song set will include the 17 top voted songs and as the band did not want to be left out of the fun, their vote for the 18th slot goes to adding a brand new song! Fans will be able to visit www.metallica.com to see what songs fellow fans are voting for and the results of their specific shows. Those who have already purchased tickets online to the dates in Germany should expect to receive an email shortly, which will contain a code to access the voting ballot.

"We are once again psyched to break free of the four walls in the studio to get energized by our devoted European friends for a couple of weeks next May and June," said Lars Ulrich upon last week's initial announcement. "On top of that, the fact that all our nutty fans will pick the songs we play should be some next level fun and take a big load off my shoulders as the guy who usually writes the set list!"

Stay tuned for additional European dates to be announced later this week and visit www.metallica.com for more details on the voting process.

About Metallica

Formed in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, Metallica have become one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold 110 million albums worldwide and playing to millions of fans the world over. They have scored several multi-platinum albums, including 1991's Metallica (commonly referred to as "The Black Album"), which is the best selling album in history of Soundscan scanning 16 million albums in the United States alone. Their latest album, Death Magnetic, was certified platinum just six weeks after it debuted atop the Billboard Top 200 Album chart in October 2008. Death Magnetic charted at #1 in 32 countries. Metallica have also garnered numerous awards and accolades, including nine Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, and multiple MTV Video Music Awards, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. Most recently the band spent 18 months touring and developing the staging for their groundbreaking 3D feature film Metallica Through The Never. Last summer, Metallica unveiled a brand new stage in Mexico City that featured iconic elements that spanned its 30-year career and is featured in the film. They played eight shows to nearly 180,000 fans at the Sports Arena in Mexico City. Starring Dane DeHaan, the film features dazzling pyrotechnics, the most elaborate live-performance stage ever built, state-of-the-art 3D photography captured on up to 24 cameras simultaneously and pioneering and innovative sound mixing. Metallica Through The Never was the first feature film to be released exclusively by IMAX in all of its theaters in North America. The film will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, digitally, and V.O.D. (Video On Demand) on January 28, 2014 through Blackened Recordings.
