Mannheim Steamroller Announces 'Mannheim Steamroller LIVE' Plus National Tour

Mannheim Steamroller is charting a course for their biggest year yet. Earlier this year the group was honored with "30/40 LIVE," a National PBS Television Special celebrating their 1974 debut, Fresh Aire and the group's 1984 chart-topping holiday album, Mannheim Steamroller Christmas. A massive national tour has been confirmed and on October 16th, the group will release the first LIVE "Roller" album in almost two decades, Mannheim Steamroller LIVE.

The album was recorded in concert in surround sound over two evenings last December at the magnificent 100-year-old Orpheum Theater in Omaha, NE, the hometown of Mannheim Steamroller. Omaha is also home to the group's label American Gramaphone which Davis founded in 1974. The label has grown though the years to become one of the industry's largest and most successful independent record companies.

Mannheim Steamroller LIVE celebrates the group's history and continuing strength as a vibrant touring entity with inspiring performances of selections from their catalog of beloved Christmas releases. The album includes timeless Mannheim pieces that have become cherished Yuletide classics: Deck the Halls, Silent Night, Joy to the World and a soon to be classic version of Greensleeves, which features Chip Davis' youngest daughter Elyse - the first vocalist to appear live on stage with the group. "There have been many musical additions along the way, like having one of my idols, Johnny Mathis, sing on Christmas Extraordinaire and Olivia Newton-John sing on the Christmas Angel album." Davis delightedly states, "...but nothing could make me prouder than to have my youngest daughter, Elyse, sing the solo on my arrangement of Greensleeves."
