"Some people may wonder why we waited five years for our digital release" says director Les Claypool, "After a long battle to regain the rights from National Lampoon, whose owner and CEO is currently serving a long stint in federal prison for fraud, we are finally in a position to put Apricot back into circulation where it belongs. On this film in particular, the truth has often been stranger then fiction." Producer, Jason McHugh says, "We have been on wild ride with Electric Apricot and I am excited that Les got to fine tune a brand new director's cut for our digital release. Who knows, perhaps the lads from Apricot will sneak in a secret performance or two to celebrate the re-launch of this fine piece of cinema.
Rock legends such as the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, Phish's Mike Gordon, as well as, Warren Haynes and Matt Abts from Gov't Mule appear in this fun little film that keeps on trucking! Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo also features insanely funny cameo appearances from Seth Green (Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Italian Job), Seth Green (Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Italian Job), Matt Stone (South Park and Book of Mormon) and Arj Barker (Flight of the Conchords).
