Congratulations to Lana Del Rey whose new album ULTRAVIOLENCE (Interscope/Polydor UK) debuted this week at #1 on the Billboard 200 selling 182,000 copies, her best sales week yet, and more than double the first week sales of her 2012 album Born To Die (Interscope/Polydor UK). ULTRAVIOLENCE debuted at #1 in 12 countries so far, including the U.K., and in the Top 5 of 8 other countries, selling over 880,000 copies worldwide. Born To Die debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 in 6 countries. Lana is currently charting 3 albums on the Billboard 200: Born To Die, Paradise, and ULTRAVIOLENCE.
The New York Times praised the new album's "retro sophistication," adding it "moves gracefully between heartache and sly humor," and Entertainment Weekly gave it a perfect A grade, saying it "unleashes [her] full potential."
