Following a momentous year of releases in 2015 under the moniker Varien, Bass extraordinaire and anime enthusiast Nick Kaelar continues to redefine the electronic norm as Koinu. For his New Noise debut, he takes a giant step forward with "Kuroneko." Juxtaposing traditional melodic house elements with dirty low-end wobbles and a relentless bassline, the rising Tampa producer delivers a deep yet grimy house heater.

As Varien, he released two pulsating Monstercat tunes "We Are The Lights" and "Aether and Lights," with the latter surpassing 1 million YouTube plays. By fusing K-pop and Anime aesthetics with elements of future bass, trap, dubstep, and even nu-disco, Kaelar repurposed his sound and began releasing music as Koinu in February. Koinu means "puppy" in Japanese and represents a more playful side of Kaeler's productions, highlighted by the tracks "Milkshakes and Chill" and "Tomodashi." His standout remix of CL's international hit "Hello Bitches" received widespread support within the dance music sphere, including MAKJ on his renowned Revolution Radio Show. With "Kuroneko," Koinu offers up his inimitable sound to the masses and takes a major leap in what is sure to be a bright career.
