Kina Grannis has announced that she'll be celebrating the release of her sophomore studio album Elements with fans at a handful of intimate shows across North America this May. The intimate tour kicks off with a hometown show at the Troubadour on May 6th - the same day Elements will be released. From there, she'll hit San Francisco, DC, NYC, Boston, Toronto, before she wraps up in Chicago on May 20th. The select dates will be the first time fans can hear Elements live and also serve as Kina's first official headline run since the spring of 2012.

Elements was produced by Matt Hales, aka Aqualung and is the follow up to Kina's 2011 debut Stairwells. Starting in November, Kina began ramping up for the forthcoming album with the launch of "Kina Mondays," which promises a weekly video via Kina's YouTube channel. Nearly six months later, she's continued to deliver on that promise and released a video for "The Fire," the first single from Elements, earlier this month. The song showcases Kina's lush acoustics and sweet, folk-driven vocal. The following week another album track was released via video with a stripped-down version of "My Own" featuring Kina's sisters and their rich harmonies. "Dear River," an upbeat, sonically organic track, premiered last week on Glamour's "Obsessed Blog" who note Kina's ability to reach out and grab her audience: "Kina Grannis is one of those artists whose music just touches my heart-her mood in the song becomes my mood in real life, every time."

Kina's incredible knack for connecting with her fans began in 2007 when she joined YouTube, made her very first music video, and entered the Doritos Crash the Superbowl Contest. With the help of friends, family, and new fans, Kina won the contest and during Superbowl XLII, "Message from Your Heart" aired to 97 million viewers nationwide. In 2011, she released her debut studio album Stairwells which made several Billboard chart entries and over the next two years, propelled her to play to sold-out crowds around the world. On the strength of the album, she released a masterful stop-motion video for single "In Your Arms," made entirely from Jelly Beans - 288,000 of them to be exact. The video hit 3 million views in less than a week and landed Kina in the pages of Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal and earned her National Network TV debuts with performances on both The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Elements is due out on May 6th 2014 and more info on where you can pre-order the album is forthcoming. For now, check out all confirmed dates for Kina's intimate shows this May and for the most up to date information, visit www.kinagrannis.com.
