She sings about the Appalachian Mountains, but Kaitlyn Baker is about to hit the Rockies.

The Nashville recording artist will perform in Colorado for the first time, first at ViewHouse in Denver's Centennial suburb on Thursday, June 16, and then at Country Jam Colorado in Grand Junction on Friday, June 17.

Baker, who has been called a new "coal miner's daughter," has sung professionally since she was a young girl in the mountains of Southwest Virginia, but recently started to attract national attention. Her single "Coal Train" was selected by the Academy of Country Music as one of a handful of songs by emerging artists for the 2015 ACM Awards ZinePak, a 2-CD album that debuted at #4 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and was sold nationwide at Walmart.

Her latest release, "Heart of Appalachia," has been chosen as the official theme song of the Heart of Appalachia Tourism Authority in Southwest Virginia. Written by Baker and her frequent collaborator Scott Arnold, the song is a tribute to the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region. Bluegrass and country legend Larry Cordle ("Highway 40 Blues," "Murder on Music Row") co-produced the record and sings background vocals. He also appears briefly in the video, as does Bluegrass singer/songwriter Ralph Stanley II. See https://youtu.be/h2BfWyiYvrg.

At ViewHouse Centennial, Baker will perform an acoustic concert at Party on the Patio, a weekly series sponsored by 93.5 KYGO.

"I am excited that KYGO and The ViewHouse invited me to perform," Baker said. "ViewHouse has a great reputation for food and entertainment and KYGO is the top-rated country radio station in Denver, so this is quite an honor."

Meanwhile, Baker has two performances scheduled at Country Jam, first in the V.I.P. tent on Friday afternoon, and later that night, a set with her full band, following headliner Brad Paisley. Other artists slated to appear at Country Jam include Blake Shelton, Zac Brown Band, Joe Nichols, Easton Corbin, Big & Rich, Chase Bryant, Lee Brice, Neal McCoy and many more.

Colorado will be Baker's second stop, as she begins her summer concert tour. She will also perform in Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Bull Shoals, Arkansas, Richmond, Indiana and Rogersville, Tennessee.

Centennial, CO 80112, on Thursday, June 16, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. For more information, visit www.ViewHouse.com or call 303-835-0721.She will perform in the V.I.P. tent at Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colorado, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17, and later on the Jack's Place stage at approximately midnight, following Brad Paisley's show on the main stage.
