KREWELLA Debut Top 10 on Billboard 200 with 'GET WET'

Earlier this year Billboard exclaimed that "Krewella is going to be huge" and today the Chicago bred EDM newcomers will hold true to that claim. KREWELLA's first full-length album GET WET (Columbia Records) has debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 album chart and #1 on the Electronic Album chart with over 26,775 copies sold--revealing that KREWELLA is the hottest act in electronic music right now.

GET WET is the follow up to the group's breakout EP Play Hard, which charted #1 at Beatport and sparked the interest of VEVO, who inducted KREWELLA as their first EDM act in their emerging artist series, LIFT. GET WET includes their two Top 40 radio tracks: the gold-certified song "Alive" (which to date has sold over 700,000 copies) and "Live For The Night," as well as their breakthrough single "Killin' It" which garnered the trio their "Best New Artist" award at the IDMA's earlier this year.

Their first major single "Alive" reached #1 Dance Radio Airplay in November 2012 and impacted pop radio February 2013, becoming a Top 10 hit garnering over 815 million in cumulative radio audience. The "Alive" video is approaching 20 million plays and over 40 million combined video plays, with"Live For The Night" garnering over four million views to date. "Live For the Night" can also be heard as part of ABC TV's national promo campaign and has been featured on ESPN's SportsCenter broadcast. Other sports and gaming licenses for KREWELLA's music are confirmed for the NCAA, NBA, Fox College Sports and Astro video gaming equipment.

On the live front, over the last 18 months KREWELLA has grown from a small club act to a major venue draw. Notable U.S. festival plays in 2013 included iHeartRadio, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and Spring Awakening. Their massive North American GET WET LIVE headlining tour is now underway, with over 55 dates through November. The majority of dates thus far, including shows atthe Palladium in Los Angeles, the Warfield in San Francisco, Stereo Live in Houston and the Austin Music Hall in Austin and more were sold out, further cementing their draw as a top live act.

The GET WET LIVE show features live vocals by KREWELLA's Jahan and Yasmine and a brand-new super structure called THE VOLCANO, designed by Vello Virkhaus and Amanda Hamilton of V Squared Labs in collaboration with fabricator and technical engineer Stefano Novelli as a 30ft. x 18ft. innovative masterpiece encompassing reflection mapped crystal structures. The creation ofTHE VOLCANO is captured in depth by the Creators Project.

KREWELLA is a trio of consisting of sisters/vocalists/songwriters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf along with producer Kris "Rain Man" Trindl. Since their debut in summer 2012, they have garnered a cult fan base who they endearingly refer to as their "Krew."
