Justin Hayward, vocalist of The Moody Blues, brings his soulful voice to the South Orange Performing Arts Center May 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Justin joined The Moody Blues in the summer of 1966. The musician hit his stride immediately with the single "Fly Me High" and followed it up with the classic hit songs "Nights in White Satin" and "Tuesday Afternoon" from the seminal album Days of Future Past. His success showed no sign of plateauing as he created other genre-defining hits such as "Question," "The Voice" "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" and "Your Wildest Dreams." These tracks laid the foundation for the incredible success story of The Moody Blues - as well as Justin Haywards's solo work - which continues to this day.

When The Moody Blues took a break from touring in 1975, Justin worked on his album, Blue Jays. Next came the hit single "Blue Guitar." Despite being busy touring and recording with the Moody Blues again, he managed to find time to create several solo albums: Songwriter, Night Flight, Moving Mountains and The View from the Hill. Justin hit the Top Ten globally in 1978 with the single "Forever Autumn" - created for Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.

Justin's latest album, Spirits of The Western Sky, was followed by several solo tours, and his concert in Atlanta was filmed and released on DVD as Spirits...Live. This filmed concert reached number one on the Billboard Video chart. In the following year, Justin toured the UK, Europe and the USA as both part of The Moody Blues and as a solo artist.

John Hayward performs at SOPAC May 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $58-$68 and can be purchased online at SOPACnow.org, or by calling the box office at (973) 313-2787.
