Radaronline reports that Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are being eyed by producers of American Idol as possible judges on the show's next season. In addition, the FOX execs are considering Pink and Diddy as possible replacements for the current panel presiding over Season 12.
According to the site, producers are "desperate" to find four new judges, who not only will improve sagging ratings but will also be able to get along with one another, a reference to the ongoing feud between this season's
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
"It's been a lackluster season for 'Idol' and everyone involved with the show is well aware of it so that's why producers are franticly working on lining up big name stars for season 14," a source revealed.
The site claims producers are looking to make drastic changes before the once Reality Show titan returns to the air in 2014. "They want to go big next season, and you can't get any bigger than Justin Bieber. The executives are calling it their dream team because who wouldn't tune in to see Justin and Selena, Pink and Diddy?" The source added.
An insider shared that "there's more drama going on behind the scenes of the show than on the stage, and that's why there's a major overhaul in the works." They continued, "If producers have it their way - Justin, Selena, P!nk and Diddy will be sitting at the judges table next season and that's a powerhouse group and everyone would tune in to see."
