Julia Louise has premiered the second track from her upcoming Digital EP (Insatiable, available tomorrow) via New Noise Magazine.

A soft pulse. A daunting thought. A wasted conscious. A powerful voice. All of these are featured on Julia Louise's new song, "Haze." The song details out the coming to terms of shifting the balance of one's life. Louise's ambitious delivery floats over a slow burner; featuring soft plucked guitar notes ringing out against the distress signal of one's body as it collapses towards abandonment, "a pill that I call baby, just one sedative to keep me hazy," Louise sings. At this moment, the effects of the drugs kick in while the drum slowly build into a soothing, trance-like beat. For such a quiet song, Louise exits with as much confidence as was exalted from the moment the scales tipped. Happiness comes from within, but if not, there's just one thing to keep the balance permanently lost.

Louise comments on the song: "'Hazy' is the oldest song that I've ever continuously played. I wrote it in high school. I had serious anxiety issues and in hopes of combating them, I began experimenting with substances. It ultimately led to even more confusion. I wrote the first verse of hazy during the worst of my self medicating, and the second after I gave it up and realized that I didn't need to rely on those things to find happiness."

Insatiable will be released on June 10 via No Sleep. In the meantime, check out Insatiable in full below.
