On February 19 at 7 PM, Rahway folks looking to spend a relaxing Sunday evening will be filing into the Union County Performing Arts Center for its first Jazz Club of the year. The talent will be none other than Jersey City Jazz Collective, the recipients of the 2015 Rahway Culture Crawl Excellence in Musicianship Award.

The performance will take place in the lobby and café, which offer an intimate setting with comfortable seating accommodations and easy access to concessions.

Jersey City Jazz Collective not only plays the jazz standards, but they also delve into the realms of fusion, Latin, and funk. Their original songs, as well as their ability to tap into the wonderful Jazz tradition that is improvisation, add flair and excitement to an already entertaining repertoire. The members of JCJC, Nathan Bohach on vibraphone, Chelsea Hughey on drums and cymbals, Cesar Hass on guitar, and Jack Breslin on bass, are all current and former Jazz Master's students from New Jersey City University. Nathan Bohach has been a Rahway native for nearly two years.

He had this to say about the upcoming performance: "There aren't too many chances to see the jazz vibraphone in Rahway. We have been working hard to prepare for this show, and it is a show you do not want to miss!"

Tickets for the Jazz Club at UCPAC this Sunday are $15 and can be purchased by calling (732) 499-8226, by visiting ucpac.org or by stopping by the box office in person. Box office hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 AM- 5 PM, with extended hours of 11 AM to 8 PM on Thursdays. The Union County Performing Arts Center is located in downtown Rahway at 1601 Irving Street and is easily accessible to major roads and public transportation.
