Infinity Reigns Looks at Our Nation's Values in Debut Song 'America'

"America," the newly released debut song from Infinity Reigns, contains ground breaking musical performances and powerful lyrics. The song evokes the loss of innocence experienced through growing up and confronting the reality of our country's cultural and political struggles. Reflecting on memories of his childhood perception of America, and his desire to feel that way again, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist S.B. Ahrens said, "America seemed very different to me when I was young. It has become a much darker place as I've gotten older and propaganda reigns supreme in the information age. I used to look up to America and now I wonder... What has happened to you?"

"America" is the first song to be released from Infinity Reigns' upcoming debut album, which will be available later this year. Infinity Reigns music focuses on experiences and topics central to many aspects of the human condition, which Wikipedia defines as: "The characteristics, key events, and situations which compose the essentials of human existence, such as birth, growth, emotionality, aspiration, conflict, and mortality." Hence the tagline on the Infinity Reigns website: "Songs at the heart of the human condition".

"Infinity Reigns music also explores topics about opportunities for us to be more compassionate beings and to face our fears; to find our hearts in the face of our most challenging experiences as humans on this planet. Most of the song lyrics are inspired from direct experiences," explained S.B. Ahrens, who arranged and performed all of the songs on the upcoming album.

"It was very challenging and took 3 years to accomplish," said Ahrens. "I really enjoy playing music in bands and with other musicians. I was also curious if it was possible to write, perform and produce an album on my own. Luckily for me I have been playing and writing music for many years; iterating on the puzzle of lyrics, melodies, rhythms, phrasing... but most of all, focusing on the story that each song is about. I was also fortunate enough to work at PDI / DreamWorks Animation and learn about multi-phase production pipelines used to make animated movies. This led me to believe that if I laid out the album production as a pipeline, I could go from story concept to the final mix of a song without sacrificing my vision for the story or the performances of each instrument and voice."

The resulting album is a rich and powerful tapestry of rock music, covering a broad spectrum of song styles tied together by evocative lyrics and compelling musical arrangements. "America", with it's driving energy and thought provoking subject matter, is a strong initial look at what the album has to offer.
