This fall, the Howard County Arts Council is pleased to present ARTreach Courtyard Concerts, a free music series at Long Reach Village Center.

Enjoy performances by local and regional musicians as you visit village center shops and restaurants, explore the art center, or relax in the courtyard. Concerts will be scheduled monthly from September through December, and will be held in conjunction with gallery events at the Columbia Art Center.

The first concert will be held on September 19 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and feature the soulful sounds of Long Reach's own Janice B.

Singing and writing since childhood, this multi-talented artist is working on her third album and has collaborated with diverse artists including DJ/producer N'Dinga Gaba and singer/songwriter QueenEarth. In addition to writing and performing in a variety of genres, she serves on the board of the Baltimore Songwriters Guild and actively helps emerging talents develop their skills.

"Music is the one thing that connects all of us and I want to be a part of bringing people together through song and lyrics," says Janice.

No tickets are required for this event, so just come out and enjoy the music! Some seating is available, but feel free to bring your own chair. The concert coincides with the Columbia Art Center's ManneqART exhibit reception from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.

Additional free courtyard concerts are planned for October 3, November 15, and December 11. The ARTreach Courtyard Concert Series is sponsored by the Arts Council through a grant from Howard County, MD. To learn more, visit www.artreachhoco.org.
