This winter, the Ecstatic Music Festival (EMF) returns for a fourth season of adventurous collaborative concerts bringing together performers and composers from across the sonic spectrum for 11 highly unique and utterly original collaborations. At a time when incorporating diverse musical influences is the norm rather than the exception, the EMF gives some of today's most compelling musicians the opportunity to work together in exciting new combinations, branching out in fresh, unexpected directions and exploring new territory.

The 2014 festival kicks off today, January 31 with Hospitality and Face the Music, presented by Q2 Music at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR (44 Charlton St., thegreenspace.org) and continues with nine concerts at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Concert Hall (129 W. 67th St., EcstaticMusicFestival.com) and an additional show on February 22 with Victoire and Glenn Kotche at Carnegie Hall (carnegiehall.org).

Additional collaborations include Lesley Flanigan and People Get Ready (February 19); the Bang on a Can People's Commissioning Fund Concert (March 13); and So Percussion and Buke and Gase (March 26).

Presented by Kaufman Music Center, the 2014 Ecstatic Music Festival will include three New Sounds Live concerts hosted by WNYC's John Schaefer, which will be webcast live on Q2 Music (q2music.org) and taped for future broadcast on WNYC. Q2 Music is the festival's digital venue and will be the center for on-demand artist interviews and concert audio. The EMF is presented in association with New Amsterdam Presents. Media partners include The Village Voice and ToBe.us.
