Australian-born guitar aficionado Hamish Anderson has shared a cinematic video for "Hold On Me" exclusively with Purevolume. The high-octane visual pays homage to Martin Scorcese's Taxi Driver and borrows legendary musician/producer Jim Scott and Richie Brancatsiano of ABC's Chasing Life.
Directed by Rob Lambert and produced by Juel Concepts, the mini epic follows an impressive debut album, Trouble, produced by Grammy-winning Jim Scott (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Wilco, Grace Potter) and mixed by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys). Backed by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos on baritone sax, drummers Frederik Bokkenheuser (Ryan Adams), Aaron Sterling (John Mayer) and Johnny Radelat (Gary Clark Jr.), bassists Chris Bruce (Doyle Bramhall II, Meshell Ndegeocello) and Rob Calder (Angus & Julia Stone); and Chris Joyner (Ryan Bingham, Heart) and Jason Borger aka Jerry Borgé (Jonathan Wilson) on keys, Anderson's 12-track LP is full of no-frills rock and full-bodied blues and proves how the Los Angeles-based artist is keeping the classic commandments on music alive.
A student of the three Kings (Albert, B.B., and Freddie), Anderson's respect for rock's origins has landed him critical acclaim early in his career. In the last two years, he has racked up a prestigious 2015 Independent Music Award, praise from The Huffington Post and the U.K.'s The Blues Magazine and coveted opening slots for the very legends that inspired his timeless sound: B.B. King, Robert Cray, Los Lobos, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Wynona Judd and Blues Traveler and The Rides (Stephen Stills, Shepherd, and Barry Goldberg).Get your copy of Trouble @ Spotify | iTunes | Apple Music | Website
