Blurring the lines of country, folk, rock and pop, Green River Ordinance delivers tight harmonies, relatable lyrics and dance-worthy music to The Eccles Center today, January 10. The band fires up at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 435-655-3114 or online at EcclesCenter.org.

Comprised of Jamey Ice (guitar, banjo, mandolin), Josh Jenkins (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Joshua Wilkerson (guitar, vocals), Denton Hunker (drums, percussion) and Geoff Ice (bass, vocals), GRO got its start a decade ago when its members were just 13- and 14- year old kids. The Fort Worth, Tex.-based group began as a grassroots phenomenon, which hit the mainstream with the Capitol Records release of "Out of My Hands" (2009). The debut album and its hit singles "Come On" and "On Your Own" topped the billboard charts and opened the door to on-stage appearances with artists ranging from Bon Jovi and Train to Counting Crows and The Goo Goo Dolls. Returning to its independent roots, the band has since released a chart-topping second album, "Under Fire" and EP "Chasing down the Wind."

Front man Jenkins' "yearning, honest vocal tone" (Billboard) has led critics to liken the group to similarly acoustic-driven, pop-roots-rock artists, such as Counting Crows or Matchbox Twenty. But the young group is forging its own distinct path - and sound - with a repertoire of well-crafted tunes that run the gamut, from rockin' jams to ballads with striking melody.

"The sound is immediate - modern alt-rock peppered with pop hooks and tight harmonies," writes a Dallas Morning News reviewer. "It's a warm, instantaneous rush of sonic familiarity..."

In addition to touring, GRO is currently in the midst of recording its third, full-length studio album slated for release in the fall of 2015.

"This band is just getting started," says PCI executive director Teri Orr. "They're young. They're hot. They're extraordinarily talented. And their shows are tremendously fun. We are extremely fortunate to welcome them to our stage."
