The Arts at Millersville presents Grammy Award-winning Tom Chapin in Concert on Saturday, April 18 at 11 am at the Ware Center located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster. Noted as "the best family artist around" by Billboard, Chapin charms audiences with his educational and upbeat music. This performance will be hosted by WXPN Kids Corner's Kathy O'Connell and is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Recently, Chapin won Parents' Choice Gold Award, Family Choice Award, Creative Child CD of the Year Award, National Parenting Publication Awards (NAPPA) Gold, Mom's Choice Gold Award and Academics' Choice Smart Media Award for his children's music. His remarkable musicianship, great songwriting and personal warmth shine through in his live concerts and captivate the audience.

Fun, free children's activities are planned surrounding the concert with creative, hands-on activities starting one hour before the concert at the Ware Center. As part of the activities a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo will be offered by the Millersville University's National Association for Music Education led by MU student, Tim McGee. After the show, concert-goers will have the opportunity to meet Tom Chapin and ask questions. The pre-show activities are made possible through a partnership with Fig Magazine, Lancaster Country Day School-Project Arts, Lancaster Public Library, the Creative Experiences for the Young Child class at Millersville University, the North Museum of Nature and Science, and Power Packs.

This concert is sensory-friendly and is designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all families with children with autism or with other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities. Additional sensory-friendly activities will be provided in the lobby space throughout the performance.
