Nelly will perform for a fundraising concert, presented by Vatterott College for only $36 per ticket. This one-night only concert benefiting the Vatterott College Scholarship Fund takes place at The Pageant, 6161 Delmar Blvd, on August 3. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
The Vatterott College Scholarship Fund, managed by the Greater St. Louis Community Foundation, awards scholarships through a competitive process to high achieving enrolled students at Vatterott College, L'École Culinaire, ex'treme Institute by Nelly and The Court Reporting Institute campuses to help them continue their education. This concert is the main event coordinated each year to help support the scholarship fund. Last year, 80 scholarships were presented to students with the money raised through donation and the benefit concert.
"Supporting our students' efforts to succeed is a top priority for Vatterott College," said Pam Bell, CEO and President of Vatterott Educational Centers, Inc.
Nelly is an American Grammy Award-winning hip hop recording artist, entrepreneur and actor from St. Louis. Nelly began his solo career in 2000 with his debut album Country Grammar, the title track of which was a top ten hit. His following album, Nellyville, produced number-one hits "Hot in Herre" and "Dilemma" (featuring Kelly Rowland). Other singles included "Work It" (featuring Justin Timberlake), "Air Force Ones" (featuring Murphy Lee and St. Lunatics), "Pimp Juice" and "#1". In 2010, Nelly released the album 5.0. The lead single, "Just a Dream", has appeared in the top ten of several singles charts and certified platinum in the United States. The second single is "Move That Body" (featuring T-Pain and Akon). Nelly received Grammy Awards in 2003 and 2004 and had a supporting role in the 2005 remake film The Longest Yard with Adam Sandler, Burt Reynolds and Chris Rock. His newest album M.O. is set to be released later this summer and the hit single "Hey Porsche" has already been released along with the Florida & Georgia Line remix of "Cruise" featuring Nelly.
