Get into the St. Patty Day spirit with the Celtic rock fusion of The Prodigals tonight, March 12 at 8pm in the Lackland Center.

The Prodigals have emerged as the dominant force on the Celtic - music scene simply because there's no one else like them. They have toured the continent for over 10 years, winning accolades and fans, and have emerged as a band hailed for blending a passion for the traditional music of Ireland with a funky, anarchic energy that is pure New York.

The band's members, who largely grew up in Ireland, are led by Dave Fahy on guitar/vocals and Gregory Grene on accordion/vocals. Originally from Galway, Fahy has become one of the more sought after Irish guitar players and singers on the New York music scene today. Grene, who hails from County Cavan, Ireland has been called "a glorious singer", and virtuoso on the "Castagnari Tommy" accordion. The Irish Times reported that "Grene's accordion calls many of the shots, fuelled by the kind of percussive force that NASA would pay dearly for."

Tickets for The Prodigals on Saturday March 12th at 8pm are $25.00 for adults and $17.50 for children under 12 in advance. All ticket orders increase $5.00 on the day of the event. All ticket sales are final.
