Two-time Tony Award Nominee Gavin Creel will make his Provincetown debut at The Art House on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th featuring Seth Rudetsky on the piano. For tickets please visit www.ptownarthouse.com or call 508-487-9222.

Of his Tony-nominated role as Claude in the recent smash hit Broadway revival of Hair, the New York Times hailed him as "the pure-voiced Gavin Creel," the Associated Press noted that "Gavin Creel, besides possessing a powerhouse voice, brings a sweet-tempered poignancy to Claude". Just three years after graduating from the University of Michigan, Creel was cast in his first Broadway show - Thoroughly Modern Millie - as Millie's love interest Jimmy Smith. He received his first Tony nomination for his performance, of which the Daily News wrote "Gavin Creel could not be better. He dances and sings with just the right light touch and charm." He also appeared on Broadway in the revival of La Cage aux Folles as Jean-Michel, as well as the Goodman Theatre/Kennedy Center production of Bounce, American Repertory Theater's premier of the new rock musical Prometheus, the New York concert versions of Hair and Bright Lights, Big City, and on London's West End in Mary Poppins and Hair. Other notices, such as being called the "Broadway hottie" by famed celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, have helped to cement his status as a Contemporary Stage heart throb.

In 2009, Creel was honored as one of OUT Magazine's Out 100 for his work as an advocate for the LGBT community and co-founder of Broadway Impact, a grassroots organization of the theatre community fighting for marriage equality. Through this advocacy work, he has gained national attention performing and speaking at events such as the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) national dinner alongside Lady Gaga and keynote speaker President Obama; The Cyndi Lauper True Colors Cabaret series featuring Jason Mraz, Rufus Wainwright, and Sara Bareilles; and on the Capitol lawn at the 2009 Equality March. The Art House is proud to present Gavin Creel's debut performances for Provincetown audiences.
